Counselling and coaching in English

I am Daniela Lukas, a systemic counsellor and coach and a psychological counsellor based in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Germany. I work in German and in English, in person and online.

Living in a country that is not your own can make a hard time harder. The words that would come easily at home are suddenly out of reach, and the support you would normally turn to is far away. If it helps you to speak English, we can work entirely in English, from the first conversation to the last.

What I can help with

• An unfulfilled wish to have children: for women and for couples, including saying goodbye to that wish
• Stress and burnout prevention: recognising your own patterns and finding a healthier way to live with pressure
• Life transitions and personal crises: separation, career change, illness, difficult decisions
• Bereavement: space for your own way of grieving, without judgement, pressure or haste

How I work

Depending on what you bring and what you are aiming for, the methods I work with can be combined. Together we look at what suits you. My three main approaches are the Internal Family System (IFS), solution-focused brief therapy in the tradition of Steve de Shazer, and Progressive Muscle Relaxation. Mindfulness and resource-oriented work run through all of them.

My focus is counselling and coaching. What I offer does not replace therapy or treatment by a doctor, a psychotherapist or a Heilpraktiker. If you are looking for therapeutic support, I would encourage you to contact a psychotherapist licensed by the German health insurance system, a Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie, or the appointment service of the health insurers on 116117.
